Toce waterfall

the Toce waterfall, with its majestic 143-metre waterfall, is one of the symbols of Val Formazza and one of the highest waterfalls in Europe, located in the hamlet of Frua at an altitude of 1675 metres, surrounded by pastures, rocks and coniferous woods is considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Alps.

The dam and Lake Morasco, above the waterfall, are a spectacular setting for excursions to the nearby Swiss border or for a peaceful picnic.

To enjoy all its majesty, it is advisable to visit it between June and September, when the dam is open on certain days.

 Devero Alp

At Alpe Devero it is possible to move around only on foot or by bicycle, nature is uncontaminated and looks like a paradise for those who love pure mountains and love to walk paths surrounded by greenery and in total tranquility.

As soon as you reach Piana del Devero you find yourself in front of the few houses that make up the village with its typical Walser-style houses, in stone and wood, the small church and some restaurants and refuges.

Many itineraries for more or less demanding excursions start from Alpe Devero. I advise you to reach Crampiolo, a fairy-tale village, surrounded by greenery between streams and lakes and from here continue to get to the beautiful and suggestive Devero Lake

The entire complex stands on an area of 26,000 square meters of land and extends over 5,000 square meters, with curative and recreational spa facilities.

The structure encloses a space, open to the south, in which there is a large outdoor ludic-therapeutic swimming pool. The water path continues, also connecting inland, with other pools dedicated to various therapeutic functions.

Saunas, aerosol therapy, water treatments complete the wellness facilities of the centre, taking up the ancient Roman traditions which assigned a place to the body and soul in daily life.

Croveo.jpg

Climbing wall - Croveo

Croveo, the largest and most famous crag in Ossola, a large sunny granite wall visible even before arriving in Baceno.

The climbing is on vertical and overhanging walls of excellent granite, full of notches, holes and cracks despite the excellent compactness. In general the pitches are of resistance, even if there are extremely technical routes.

Ideal for families, it has grades from 5+ to 8a+.

Ideal for mid-seasons, but especially in winter (when there is no snow at the base). In summer it can be climbed when it is in the shade.

Vigezzina
Centovalli

The Vigezzina-Centovalli railway line, today one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Ossola Valley, which transports hundreds of thousands of passengers every year, was born in the early twentieth century thanks to Italian-Swiss initiatives.

The journey with the white-blue trains of the Vigezzina-Centovalli railway fascinates throughout the year: an experience suitable for all ages and in every season. The autumn colors of the foliage make this trip one of the experiences not to be missed in Val d'Ossola between the end of September and the beginning of November; the whitewashed landscapes make it magical and romantic in winter; the explosion of greenery in spring and summer transforms it into a dive into the most pristine nature!

San Gaudenzio

The Monumental Parish Church of San Gaudenzio has very ancient origins; in fact the first documents that testify to the existence of a primitive chapel date back to the early 1000s.
